The 2017 Saint-Pierre (Pomerol) is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 50% new. Medium to deep garnet-purple color, it strides boldly out of the glass with pronounced notions of stewed plums, dried mulberries and baked cherries plus hints of Ceylon tea and tobacco. Medium bodied, the palate is chock-full of expressive black fruit preserves, framed by rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing earthy.
